Statement from Seb:
"I would like to thank everybody for their kind messages of support. They
vary from offers of help to either volunteer or contribute or suggest other
ways of contributing. What it has shown us is the heartfelt belief
that Sleddale Hall or if you prefer, Crow Crag, should not be exclusive of
anyone who wants to make the journey there under their own steam.
My biggest fear is that a private individual could have bought the site and
made it into a private dwelling, which might still happen. There is one
worst-case scenario which would be that no one can use it and therefore it
ends up with metal grilles on the windows and an eight-foot high fence
protecting visitors under Health & Safety laws...... I feel so strongly
about the right to visit this part of my heritage I could not possibly let
either of these two options happen!"
