Sleddale Hall, Crow Crag or Uncle Monty's Cottage in the Eastern Fells, Cumbria

Location map

Sleddale Hall is fairly easy to find but I stress you cannot drive right up to it. There is absolutely no vehicular access!

You must park at the designated car park at the eastern end of Wet Sleddale reservoir and walk from there (or cycle up). Remember to take stout footwear as it can be boggy in places.

From the M6 Junction 39: exit the motorway and head for the A6. Turn right at the bottom of the hill (onto the A6) then take the next turn left, signed Wet Sleddale. Carry on this small road, through a farm yard towards the reservoir and follow the road up to the car park (about 1 mile from main road).

You can either walk to it along the southern edge of the reservoir using the rough track, crossing the river at the end and ascending the hill; or along the farm road at the northern side of the reservoir (see maps).
